About the lawn

Rough answers are fine — this is just so we can price it without coming out.

Please don't put lockbox, alarm or key codes here — this reaches us as an ordinary email. If we need one we'll sort it with you on the day.

Got photos? Text them to 027 381 4877, email care@freshturf.co.nz, or DM @freshturf_lawnmowing once you've sent this — we'll match them up. A photo of the lawn is usually enough to price the job without a visit.

We take pride in every job— big or small!

Questions

Before you book

Do you bring your own equipment?

Yes — everything. Mowers, line trimmer, blower, fuel, the lot. You don't need to own a mower, and you don't need to leave anything out for us. If your own mower has broken down or you've never had one, that changes nothing about the price.

Do you need to use my power or water?

Not for mowing — our gear runs on its own fuel and batteries. Waterblasting is the exception: for that we usually just need access to an outside tap. We'll say so when we quote if anything else is needed.

How much does a lawn mow cost?

It depends on the size of the section, how long the grass is, and whether there's edging to do. Send a photo and we'll give you a fixed price before we start. Quotes are free.

Do you charge for a quote?

No. Quotes and bookings are free. Most of the time we can price a job straight off a photo without needing to visit.

Do I have to sign up for a regular service?

No. Plenty of our work is one-off — an overgrown lawn, a tidy before an open home, a catch-up while the mower's being fixed. Book once and that's the end of it. Even our regular customers have no contract — they just let us know before their next visit if they want to pause or stop.

Can you work to a deadline?

Yes, and it's a big part of what we do — photography, open homes, inspections, moving day, visitors arriving. Put the date in the form and flag it as fixed. We'll tell you straight away whether we can make it rather than leaving you hoping. See Property Ready.

Can I book for someone else's property?

Yes — for a parent, a relative, a tenant or a client. We'll deal with you for arrangements and invoicing while working at their address. Landlords and property managers do this constantly.

Which areas do you cover?

All over South Auckland — Papakura, Manurewa, Takanini, Manukau, Papatoetoe, Māngere, Ōtara, Flat Bush, Drury, Pukekohe and everywhere between. See the full list. A travel cost may apply outside our usual run, and we'll tell you before you book.

Do you take the green waste away?

We can. Rubbish and green waste removal is charged on top of the mowing because of dump fees, and we'll confirm that cost up front.

How fast can you get to me?

We reply to most enquiries the same day and can usually fit a standard mow in within a few days. Call or text if it's urgent.

What if it rains?

Light rain doesn't stop a mow. If it's genuinely too wet — or the lawn will get churned up — we'll message you and move the booking rather than do a bad job. You're not charged for a visit we didn't make.

Do you mow in winter?

Yes. Growth slows right down from about May, so most customers drop to monthly over winter and step back up in spring. Just tell us and we'll change the frequency — there's no charge for switching.

Do I need to be home?

No, and most of our regular customers aren't. We need to be able to get to the lawn, and any gates unlocked or a code we can use. Tell us once and we'll remember it.

What should I do before you arrive?

Pick up anything on the lawn that shouldn't be mown over — hoses, dog toys, kids' gear — and if there's a dog, let us know how you'd like it handled. If your dog uses the lawn, clearing it beforehand means a much better finish and no mess spread around. Anything you'd rather we didn't touch, just say.

Do you mow the berm as well?

Yes, if you want it done — just ask when you book. It's the strip most people forget about and the one that makes a property look unkempt from the street.

Can you mow a steep section or a bank?

Usually. There's a point where a bank is too steep to mow safely, and if yours is past it we'll tell you honestly rather than take the job and do half of it. A photo is the quickest way for us to judge.

Is my section too small to bother with?

No. Small courtyards, strips and units are all fine. Bear in mind the price reflects turning up rather than the square metres, so a very small lawn won't be a fraction of a big one — but it's still worth asking.

Do you do gardens as well as lawns?

We do weeding, garden tidy-ups and hedge and tree trimming, and we'll take the green waste away. We're not a landscaping company — we won't design a garden or lay paving — but keeping one tidy is very much our thing.

Do you do commercial or body corporate properties?

Yes — business premises, shared grounds and multiple-property arrangements. Pick the right property type on the quote form and tell us how many sites are involved. Landlords and property managers have their own page.

What if I'm not happy with the job?

Tell us and we'll come back and put it right. We'd much rather hear about it than find out when you quietly stop calling.

How do I pay?

Bank transfer after the job. We'll send the account details with your invoice.
