Bigger trees we'll look at case by case. Anything that needs climbing, a chainsaw at height, or work near power lines is a job for a qualified arborist, and we'll tell you that rather than have a go.

Hedge and tree work is priced on its own
It isn't bundled into a mowing price, and we say so on the flyer for a reason. Height, access, what's underneath, and where the waste goes all change the job completely — a waist-high hedge over a lawn and a two-storey boundary hedge over a glasshouse are not the same work.
So: we look at it, we give you a number, and you decide. No obligation, no charge for the quote.

Common questions
How big a hedge can you handle?
Anything we can reach and cut safely from the ground or off a low platform — which covers most residential boundary and privacy hedges. Once it needs climbing or working at height, it stops being our job and we'll say so.
Do you take trees out?
Small trees and large shrubs, yes, where they can come down safely in sections from the ground. Full removals, anything near a building or power line, and anything needing climbing gear go to a qualified arborist — send a photo and we'll tell you which category yours is in.
Do you grind stumps?
Not as a standard service. If a stump needs grinding we'll point you to someone who does it properly rather than improvise.
Do you take the cuttings away?
We can. Green waste removal is charged on top — see rubbish removal — or you can keep the wood if you've got a fire. A hedge trim generates more volume than people expect, so it's worth deciding up front.
Might my tree be protected?
Some trees in Auckland are protected, and whether yours is depends on the property and the district plan. We're not the right people to make that call — check with Auckland Council before booking any work on a mature tree. If something looks like it might be covered, we'll raise it when we quote rather than after.
When's the best time to cut a hedge?
Most hedges take a trim well from late spring through summer, and a tidy-up before winter keeps them dense. If a hedge has been left for years it's usually better cut back in stages over two seasons than hard in one go.
