Your lawn contractor
stopped turning up
They've gone quiet, missed a few visits, or simply stopped answering. We'll pick it up from wherever they left it.

Short answer: FRESHTURF takes over lawns from contractors who've stopped turning up, anywhere in South Auckland. Catch-up cut first if it's needed, then a regular run if you want one.
You don't need to have resolved anything with the previous person. Free quote, no contract, and we'll tell you honestly if we can't cover your suburb.
It's more common than you'd think
Lawn mowing has a very low barrier to entry, which is a good thing — but it also means a lot of operators are one person with a trailer and no backup. When they get sick, take on too much work, move, or decide it isn't for them, customers find out by the grass getting long.
The frustrating part is rarely the missed cut. It's the not knowing: three unanswered texts, no idea whether they're coming Thursday, and a lawn quietly getting worse while you wait to find out.
What we do differently
We can't promise never to have a bad week. What we can commit to is that you'll always know where you stand:
- If we can't make your day, you get a message — before the day, not after
- Weather delays are communicated — rain moves bookings; silence shouldn't be how you discover that
- Someone answers the phone, and calls back the same day if we miss you
- No contract — if we're not doing a good job, leave. Being locked in isn't what keeps customers
Taking over an existing lawn
Depending on how long it's been, the first visit may be a catch-up rather than a standard mow. That's priced accordingly and we'll be clear about it up front — if it's been six weeks in summer, see overgrown recovery. After that first cut you're on normal regular pricing, because a maintained lawn is quick.
Tell us what the previous arrangement covered — whether edges were included, what happened to the clippings, which day they came. It's easier to match what you were used to than to have you re-explain it after the fact.
If it's a rental you manage
A contractor going quiet on a rental is worse, because you often find out from the tenant or at an inspection. See the landlords and property managers page for how we handle scheduled work across multiple properties.

Common questions
Do I need to sort things out with my old contractor first?
No. That's between you and them. We'll just quote the lawn as it is now.
It's been six weeks. Is the first cut more expensive?
Yes, if it's grown well past a normal mow — that's a recovery cut and takes considerably longer. We'll quote it as a separate first visit so you can see exactly what's the catch-up and what the ongoing rate will be.
Can you come the same day of the week they used to?
Often, depending on where you are and what our run looks like in your suburb. Ask — if we can match it we will.
How do I know you won't do the same thing?
Fair question, and no website answer proves it. What we'd point at: no contract, so you can leave the moment we let you down, and a commitment that you'll always hear from us before a missed visit rather than after. Judge us on the first month.
They still have my gate key or code.
Worth changing if you're concerned. Give us whatever the new arrangement is and we'll work with it.
